The Porsche Macan EV was officially unveiled last Thursday and held its world premiere in Singapore. This electric SUV has a final WLTP cruising range of 613 kilometers, equipped with sports car performance and a wider interior space.
Porsche CEO Oliver Blume said this will push the Macan to a new level. As Porsche's second electric car, it and the Taycan will form Porsche's electric product line and play a key role in the brand's transformation.
Macan EV will be available in two model options, including Macan 4 and Macan Turbo EV, both equipped with dual-motor AWD to enhance performance.
The basic Macan 4 has 402 horsepower and a WLTP range of 613 kilometers.
The Macan Turbo has up to 630 horsepower and a shorter cruising range of 591 kilometers.
This new car uses the 800V PPE electric vehicle platform jointly developed with Audi and has efficient DC fast charging capabilities. The electric motor is powered by a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery. Porsche's new electric Macan will use batteries from CATL, China's leading battery supplier.
With DC fast charging of up to 270 kW, the Macan EV can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes. At a 400V charging station, a high-voltage switch splits the battery into two parts, both rated at 400V, for efficient charging.
The Porsche Macan EV starts at USD$78,800, while the Turbo has a suggested retail price of USD$105,300. Delivery is expected in the second half of this year.
